Project: Catterheart
A downloadable book
Catterheart is a cat-themed tabletop roleplaying game crafted using the Daggerheart Community Gaming License. Content within is currently in development.
CORE CONCEPT
The dominant culture and society in this world evolved from ancient felines. Communities are small and tightly nit. Individuals are fluid and constantly evolving.
MAJOR DIFFERENCES FROM DAGGERHEART
- Virtually everything is based on the physiology, psychology, taxonomy, mythology, anthropology, and history of cats across our world.
- Cat have 9 lives. Death is rather common. Death isn't final. Death is (hopefully) a learning experience. In Catterheart, progressing through your lives replaces level-based progression.
- Classes, Domains, Community, and Experiences are replaced by the current and past lives of a cat. There are 9 kinds of lives from which to choose. Most of the time, a cat will have two active chosen lives and some amount of past lives.
- Many mechanics have been modified to make the game deadlier. This is both to make for a more treacherous world, but also to see more interactions with the above mentioned 9 Lives mechanics. This includes the introduction of critical failures (double 1s).
